Low Carb Product Proliferation
The bevy of new commercial foodstuffs in the low-carb arena, due to the upswing in Atkins, can be of benefit to Zoners, South Beachers, etc., but there are some danger zones.

Neither the Zone or South Beach encourage unlimited fat consumption, or use of large quantities of saturated fats. Many of the low-carb foods, candies, etc depend on fats to improve palatability and texture. Caveat emptor

Some great new items I've added to my pantry are Special K- Low Carb, Total- low carb, Hood's Low carb dairy drink (very tasty low-carb milk alternative)Orowheat Carb-control bread and Smuckers no sugar added preserves. The best thing about all these products is that they are on regular supermarket shelves.

What are your new supermarket finds?

Comments:
There are a bevy of new low carb dairy drinks. Hood started it all but there are at least two other brands on the market now, including one with an excellent chocolate milk with 2 g. carbs and 80 calories.

I wish people would pay more attention to getting nutrition in their what they do eat and less to cutting things out. Hydrogenated fats, yes... cut those out completely. They are toxic and unatural. Carbs, though... just cut back to only eating carbs with nutrition in them (whole grains, broccoli, carrots, etc...) and dump the processed garbage that has no nutritional value. Some people cut out fat (starving themselves of the good fats), but eat nutritionless garbage they think is healthy just because it's low fat or fat free.
If you fuel your body with what it needs, it can better flush out what it doesn't. Moderation is the key, as always. That and eat what God intended, what nature provides, not the processed fake-foods.
Just my opinion.
Nice site, by the way.
